The Sony PMW-EX3 is a flash-memory based high definition camcorder capable of a variety of frame rates and resolutions using Sony’s XDCAM-EX intraframe codec. Like its more expensive ENG counterparts, the PMW-EX3 is designed to be used on the shoulder, allowing for more comfortable operation. The PMW-EX3 features an interchangeable mount capable of using both Canon and Fujinon professional video lenses. SxS being based on the Expresscard/34 interface makes ultra-high transfer rates possible, up to 800 Mb/s. These high transfer speeds can be very important when trying to quickly download multiple gigabytes worth of footage.

The Sony NEX-FS700R Super 35 Camcorder body is an update to Sony’s NEX-FS700U that enables 4K/2K 12-bit RAW output and S-Log2 recording capabilities.  The Super 35mm sized Exmor CMOS sensor matches that of standard film and digital cinema cameras. The sensor’s large size offers a variety of advantages over small sensor cameras, including increased control over depth of field, higher sensitivity in low light, lower image noise, and improved dynamic range. Sony’s E-mount gives you the flexibility to use a wide variety of lenses with the NEX-FS700R. You can also use 35mm SLR and DSLR lenses or professional cinema lenses with the use of optional third party adapters.

Bringing a smaller, handheld form factor to Sony’s line of digital cinema cameras, the PXW-FS5 XDCAM Super 35 Camera System captures UHD video using a Super 35mm-sized sensor for cinematic imagery. Though small in size, it incorporates professional features that differentiate it from consumer and DSLR/mirrorless cameras and make it suitable for use on productions as diverse as cinéma vérité-style documentaries, reality TV, and commercial and corporate applications.  The camera’s E-mount is machined from stainless steel and allows you to use E-mount lenses or accept most 35mm lenses with the use of adapters, including PL, EF, Leica, and Nikon lenses. The camera records in your choice of XAVC-L or AVCHD.
